Making Homemade Laundry Soap

Ok I know what you are thinking--WHY? Once you use it you
will know why. I do not pretreat my clothes. The clothes come out softer. The colors stay true. The cost is about $ .15 per load (WOW). My daughter is sensitive to many soap products and it does not bother her skin. It does not sud--so it is good for HE machines. It is good for the enviroment. It smells yummy and it looks so darn cute in my laundry room!!! The recipe is:

Large Batch (Powder Form)
6 bars Fels-Naptha (shredded)
3 cups Washing Soda (Arm and Hammer--NOT BAKING SODA)
3 cups Borax
Mix in a large bowl. Store in a covered container.

Small Batch (Powder Form)
1 bar Fels-Naptha (shredded)
1/2 cup Washing Soda
1/2 cup Borax.
Mix in a bowl. Store in a covered container.

There is a liquid form also, the recipe can be found on http://www.soapsgonebuy.com/. You can also buy all of the products. You should be able to find Washing soda and Borax at your local Wal-Mart. The Fels-Naptha is the one item that might be hard to find (you can buy it at this site as well--already shredded).

Here comes Santa Claus!

The countdown begins for all of us! My kids are so excited. I wonder how long it will take them to fall asleep tonight. I am betting about one am. Stay safe santa!

Decorating Gingerbread House

The kids were so excited to decorate the gingerbread house this year. I had held on to it for a couple of weeks and figured I had better do it before it is too late. The kids loved it. Except they got bored about half of the way through and guess who got to finish it. Yep-me! It was alot of fun. I think I had more fun than the kids. I have never used a gingerbread house kit before. I think next year I'll make one from scratch.

My Little Reindeer

OK, my little preschooler, Parker, came home with these cute reindeer antlers. His younger brother, Jackson, HAD TO HAVE SOME! So we made him some--soooo cute. When Parker came home he was convinced that it was Grandpa's birthday (which it wasn't). He wanted to call and wish Grandpa Happy Birthday. Even Grandpa told him that is was NOT his birthday but Parker did not care what he said--It was Grandpa's Birthday regardless what anyone said! So Happy Unbirthday, Grandpa!

New Venture!

Alright, I did not really understand how hard it is to customize a blog. Wow! I just do not get it. I have tried and tried to get it set up differently. I have gone into the customize section and entered different code but nothing. Things that make you go HMMMM.

NEVER FEAR--I NEVER GIVE UP! HA HA--I will get you my little blog--you will be changed.

And away we go!

SO, I have been talked into doing a blog. Many people are fascinated with many of the things I do. I am a bit of a night owl. I always seem to find one tiny moment at night to do something for myself. I cannot seem to stay content with just one creative outlet. So I float from craft and project to the next. I love to learn and do things with my hands.

My hardest venture--finishing my basement
The most fun--depends on the day
The one I am most proud of--my kids
My one crazy moment--trying to sell jewelry at home parties (what was I thinking, I don't wear jewelry!)

This will be a very exciting adventure.
